Carlos T. Martínez launches volume XXVIII of "Great Dominicans"

In a ceremony filled with emotion and recognition, journalist and writer Carlos T. Martínez launched the twenty-eighth edition of his iconic work " Great Dominicans " last Sunday, June 29, in the Aída Bonnelly de Díaz Room of the Eduardo Brito National Theater.

The event was attended by figures from the cultural, academic, communications, and political spheres, as well as family members and friends of the honorees included in this latest installment of the project that, for more than 28 years, has been highlighting the careers of exemplary citizens of the Dominican Republic.

The event was moderated by communicator Wanda Sánchez , who soberly guided every moment of the activity.

The blessing was pronounced by Miss Mariam Grey Martínez Díaz , in a symbolic gesture that formally began the celebration .

During the presentation of the honor table, the following were present: Carlos T. Martínez , author of the work; Luis González , renowned political scientist; Jesús Nova , distinguished communicator and general director of the Radio Division of Dominican Radio Television; Ramón Saba , poet and renowned intellectual; and Vanegrey Ramírez de Martínez, the author's wife.

One of the most significant moments was the intervention of Ramón Saba , who was in charge of the official presentation of volume XXVIII of " Great Dominicans ."

In his remarks, he highlighted the value of this project as a sustained contribution to the preservation of the country's historical memory and an act of symbolic justice for those who have left a profound mark on society.

Carlos T. Martínez shared with the audience his motivation to continue recognizing in life those who, as he quoted, remembering Pedro Henríquez Ureña , "America often leaves in the shadows."

  • He reaffirmed his commitment to exalting the merit, ethics, and silent work of Dominican men and women, whose dedication to the country deserves to be celebrated .

This new edition of the book brings together 33 personalities from diverse fields such as art, medicine, communications, journalism, public service, literature, and education, representing the diverse talent that builds the nation on multiple fronts.

The activity culminated with hugs , photographs , book signings and a collective energy of gratitude toward an author who has known how to turn his craft into a tool to shed light on the lives of great Dominicans .
